SNMP monitoring
Monitor Scout provides monitoring of system resources such as CPU and memory using SNMP monitoring.
SNMP support is available for both Windows and *nix based systems and also works with many types of networking equipment such as routers and switches.
SNMP monitoring is used to create components and metrics that graph, and optionally monitor, the resources of the target system. This means that with SNMP monitoring it is possible to set alert thresholds for excessive CPU, memory or network usage.
It is worth noting that the Monitor Scout reporting client HLReporter provides superior component/metric monitoring so its use is prefered over SNMP monitoring when possible.
